My name is Lacey Morris, I am the owner and founder of Solitude Physical Therapy and Wellness, LLC. I grew up a multisport athlete playing softball, volleyball, and running both cross country and track. I developed a passion for healthy living from a young age. I received my Bachelors in Kinesiology from Indiana University. After graduating in 2004 I continued on to earn my Doctor of Physical Therapy from Indiana University in 2008.
I have over 15 years of experience working in both an inpatient hospital setting as well as outpatient settings. I took my first job out of school working for a hospital where I spent half my day working with patients in the hospital and the other half working with outpatients. I loved being able to see patients across this spectrum from very ill and fragile to very healthy and active. This has given me an appreciation for how important it is for people to return to their previous level of function and be able to do what they love. I have continued to treat in both of these areas throughout my career which has provided me with invaluable knowledge of complex medical conditions.
I have continued my passion for running and have completed over 40 marathons including being a 2-time Boston Marathon finisher. In 2016 I underwent a labral repair for my hip and struggled throughout the years finding my own physical therapist that could help address my pain and weaknesses to keep me running as physical therapists in large clinics are often seeing many patients at a time. I would only be given hands on treatment for a few minutes before being passed off to a technician. This led to much frustration as the patient.
On the flip side as a physical therapist, I have understood this model and the pressure from the insurance companies and large physical therapy clinics which has led to professional dissatisfaction and inspired me to pursue my own company to provide better quality care to my patients.
